Get Involved!

Opportunities to make a difference, to change someone’s world, is where partnering with Grand Oaks today makes that difference in the lives of all who come through our gates.  Please prayerfully consider how you can get involved today!

01

Get Involved – Pray!

Please pray with and for us concerning:

  •    Future growth

  •    Wisdom and guidance on the right direction for a multi-purpose building

  •    Resources to make needed repairs and improvements

  •    Health and safety of all who enter Grand Oaks

  •    For continued spiritual development and outreach to those that visit

  •    The many volunteers who direct our camp sessions and work with the young people

  •    The campers that meet here…that they be drawn to a closer walk with God

Phil. 4:6  “Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition (definite requests) with thanksgiving continue to make your wants known to God.”

GET INVOLVED: DONATE!

There are several options for giving to Grand Oaks Camp:

GENERAL FUND:  Currently our operating budget is subsidized with approximately 30% support from direct giving from churches, Associations and individuals.  While there is no requirement to do so, our member churches are encouraged to include Grand Oaks in their “Mission” outreach giving.  Grand Oaks does not receive support from the Cooperative Program or NAMB.

CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND:  The Capital Improvement Fund is an ongoing fund that is used to accomplish major purchases and improvements beyond what the annual budget can provide.  Churches and individuals may choose to support this fund and are encouraged to do so.  An example of recent use of this fund is the emergency replacement of AC equipment in the Dining Hall in 2016 and Chapel in 2017.

MEMORIAL FUND:  Our Memorial Fund receives bequests or memorial gifts in honor of loved ones that have passed into Glory.  Families often choose Grand Oaks as recipient of such gifts.  Memorial gifts are typically “undesignated” and similarly to the Capital Improvement Fund may be tapped for long range improvements or purchases.  An example of the use of this fund was the 2016 purchase of a floating dock for Steen Lake.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND:  Grand Oaks maintains a Scholarship Fund that summer camp attendees may access to offset the cost of attending camp.  Churches need only to ask and the suggested amount awarded for any individual is up to half of the cost of attending that session.  The camp director for any session simply informs the Camp Manager of the need and the amount is deducted from the final bill.  The only requirement at this time is that the camper writes a personal thank you note to the donor

ENDOWMENT FUND:  Donors may choose to contribute to the Grand Oaks Endowment Fund which is invested through the Missouri Baptist Foundation.  At present the fund is in growth mode and the earnings have not been tapped, but simply re-invested.  It is divided into two parts: the Main Fund which is at present undesignated and the Pool Maintenance Fund, which was established in 2015 with seed money of $25,000 in order to grow and be available to repair the pool if needed–specifically the pool surface–projected to need restoring around the year 2030.  The Main Fund is principle protected and only the earnings will ever be tapped for use.

FINANCIAL PRINCIPLES:

Our goal as a ministry is to operate as much as possible, debt-free.  Donated dollars as well as donated time and talents are what allow us to operate without a debt.  Cash donations are welcomed on a regular monthly basis or as the Lord makes your giving possible.  Non-cash gifts can also be received but will require a conversation with us regarding such a gift.  We are a 501 (c) 3 organization making all donations tax-deductible.

Checks may be sent to:

Grand Oaks Baptist Assembly, Inc.

9463 State Hwy 190

Chillicothe, MO. 64601

Acknowledgement of giving receipts are sent around the 10th of each month and a summary of giving statement is sent out in January of each year.

Grand Oaks is somewhere Christians can go to be themselves and worship God without pressure from society.  It’s seriously such a great place for young Christians to go to; camp can show them not only the natural beauty God has given us, but also their ability to share that beauty with others.

Allison Faulkner

“Church camp to me is a safe place to get away from the world and be lifted up by the fellowship with other Christians.”

Adam King

“Grand Oaks has meant a lot to me these past 17 years.  I’ve been coming here since before I could remember.  It’s like a second home to me and an absolutely amazing place to get close to God.  I love it! “

Lena Smith

“Camp means a lot to me because it is my time of year to get away and focus on God.  When I get to camp I can take away the worries of everyday life and really focus.  Camp is always a great experience and opportunity.”

Jillian Newton

Grand Oaks Church camp is a life changing experience, it can change anyone who comes without a doubt.
